If you're looking for paid places, try Google, Yahoo, MSN etc. All the big names, which get the most traffic.
Free methods could include Digg.com, Yahoo Answers is a popular choice (search for questions that relate to your website category, and then answer with a link to your website), forums, FaceBook, MySpace (Social Networking sites are very popular when you post bulletins, messages etc.)
