“Does your software solve a problem?”

I am a firm believer that businesses should have one purpose: to solve problems shared by many. I have seen many businesses whose founders are looking to get rich fail because they don't have a problem in mind, just a scheme. Profit is a luxury to be taken after a solution is delivered. If the leaders of a business concentrate on profit and not solutions, they will likely fail in the end.

We created Guruza with a concrete problem in mind: how can we provide an incentive for knowledgeable people to share their expertise with those that need it? We understand that there are a vast number of problems that people are trying to solve. In many cases the knowledge required to solve these problems could be imparted by an expert in a matter of seconds. It may take people hours or days to solve a problem using search engines, forums and mailing lists. We hope Guruza will provide an environment that allows people to solve their problems in seconds.

If you have any questions for me regarding Guruza or anything else, please don't hesitate to contact me. You can often find me in #rubyonrails and #ruby-lang on freenode under the nick "ued".
